Shelteredby annahComment: WTG Annah! Even beat out Joey again for "top young shooter"! Great shot too, one of my faves. |

Spikeby RikkiComment: This is quite lovely. Personally, I think they symmetry is essential to the shot. Great sense of yin-yang. |

Fence & Apple — Nauset Beachby Bear_MusicComment: Originally posted by Jutilda: Where did this come from?? I just love this!!! The roundness of the apple against the square of the pickets. You clever devil you. What a lovely shot. The blues are given a little lift by the red and yellow of the fruit. |
Pity the voters didn't agree with you :-) |

Trial of strength :)by letuananhComment: What on earth doies this have to do with "music", live or otherwise? I have studied it and studied it and I just don't get it. What am I missing? Feel free to PM me if you like. It's a lovely picture, but... |

1869 - The Golden Spike by jrtoddComment: Congrats on first ribbon! Fascinating processing look on this one. It's a pity there's pavement visible, but that's a nit; if it were advanced editing you could easily deal with it. |

Condo-Minimumby Bear_MusicComment: Thanks to all who have "defended" my whimsical "illusion of scale", and understood that it is a thought-out image, not a stuffed-in one. It's not in my nature to do "set-ups"; I photograph what I see, only very rarely creating something for the purposes of a challenge. I sometimes arrange things (like peppers and cilantro, or a sculpture in a refrigerator) but can't recall offhand ever having created an entire shot for DPC.
I too was mildly suprised this didn't do a bit better; I thought it was an interesting "illusion" and a creative one. But so it goes.
As for those who commented negatively on the "noise", there IS NO NOISE IN THIS SHOT! That's blue metalflake paint... I have seen few better examples than this shot of the absurd, knee-jerk reaction against "noise" in DPC... Geesh... Better not photograph metalflake paint any more, it's too noisy...
