A fitting place for Liberal Mediaby kimybradyComment: Without the title, I guess I don't find this to be a very interesting photo. Garbage has never been something I was real fascinated with, and definately wouldn't hang this on my wall. Focus seems a bit soft, but lighting is ok. Background works, nothing distracting there. Just not my cup of tea. ~Heather~ |

Musket Ridgeby GolferDDSComment: love the seperation of green/blue. I'm wondering though if it might have higher visual impact had the horizon line not been almost dead center of the photo. Did you try this as a vertical crop? Might make for something interesting too. Focus seems a bit soft, but hard to tell, might just be the pattern that makes it look that way. Overall nice. ~Heather~ |

Walking - standing stillby arngrimurComment: LOL at how you caught the bird with his leg out like that. I even like this with the legs cropped off the top. Maybe a crop right under the top set of legs. That gives nice negative space, and a very simplistic comp. I like how it's silhouetted. Focus and clarity are nice. ~Heather~ |

"Children of Heaven"by librodoComment: Very nice capture. Would have possibly worked well in the poverty challenge as well. It is very sad really. I don't like to see dirty children. Makes me think they are lonely. Focus and clarity are great, lighting is great, and I love the framing/cropping you chose. Nothing to complain about here. 10. ~Heather~ |

Gentle Shoreby lizzyc3Comment: While I love the colors, I'm not really drawn into the image. Too much 'blank' space with not much in between. The birds are interesting, but with the one so close to the right frame, it almost seems like an accident. I do like the clouds and the color, and also like how the birds are silhouetted against the background. ~Heather~ |

Liquid Ambrosiaby ruffianComment: I like it! I wonder if there would be some way to take this so that we couldn't see the shelf? Maybe move the bottles all the way to the edge of the shelf and place something black over the shelf? The bright color of the shelf kind of contrasts with the bottles creating somewhat of a distraction for me. Love the focus, lighting is good too. |

October colorsby Dim7Comment: My eyes are finding it hard to rest on just one place. There's a strong vertical line (tree) running through the middle of the photo, and no real subject. The first thing I look at is the tree trunk, but there really is no interest there. Maybe if you could get a shot looking up the river or something, you would have a stronger focal point and might add interest to the photo. The colors are nice. Maybe play with the saturation a bit to see if you can boost the color even more! |

just Burtby Sverige52Comment: The focus on Burt seems a little soft to me. I think Burt is a very interesting character, and would love to have seen a close up of that face. Maybe in black and white. What a lovely portrait he would make close up. A face full of stories. Lighting seems ok, I may suggest to play with brightness/contrast a bit to maybe make it really punch. Burt looks like a great guy. |

Mohonk Mountain Houseby JMSComment: Hose? More like mansion. This 'house' is the size of my whole village. It is a lovely view. I do wish I could see more detail in the house, but that would probably require a really big pic. lol. Focus and clarity are good, and the lighting looks to have been cooperating with you this day. My favorite part of the photo I think is the bottom left corner where the rock mountain meets the water. Very nice crisp line there. ~Heather~ |

October 31by tolovemoonComment: Looks like maybe the white balance is off. The background has a strange pinkish color and the shadow behind the dog is distracting. Focus is alright on the pumpkin, but looks a little soft on the doggie. Black fur is something hard to photograph well. You cropped the photo a bit to close to the dog in my opinion and I'd like to see the whole dog in the photo. ~Heather~ |
