The Strain on 'E'by VictorsMindComment: I find the background to be a bit of a distractino from the main subject. It definatley doesn't add to the photo. Focus seems to be soft in most areas. I think I'd prefer focus on the strings as well. they are full of texture and detail and I like detail. The most in focus part I see is the peg and that has some distractions on it, which is kind of a disapointment. ~Heather~ |

Merrellby scottaubComment: Is this a baseball glove? Whatever it is, I like the texture. You did a nice job getting an actual 'extreme close up'. Lighting is good, no distracting shadows or bright spots. Focus and clarity are really good as well. while not something I'd hang on my own wall, I think the photo is very well done and technically flawless. ~Heather~ |

Shining diamondsby digitalpleasureComment: Very nice extreme close up. I like the color and lighting. The background is very fitting, nothing distracting there. The angle and framing/cropping are nice as well. Focus and calrity are good. i love the detail. Especiallythe little scratches on the left side of the band. Very good for the challenge. Good luck in the challenge. ~Heather~ |

okby drz01Comment: Definately qualifies for the challenge in my opinion. The subject isn't making me jump out of my seat with excitement, however, I think it is technically well done. Focus and clarity are ok, maybe a little too centered for my personal tastes. The bright area near the center top of the photo is a bit of a distraction. ~Heather~ |

Always smilingby smr78Comment: This is a nice portrait, however I don't think it is an 'extreme close up'. You got 1/2 the bird in the photo. This is definatley a close up, but in my opinion doesn't qualify as 'extreme'. Colors are pretty, background is good, nothing distracting there. Focus and clarity are good as well. A good shot for the family album for sure. ~Heather~ |

Paper Clip Pie - Six Flavours!by MorganComment: Focus seems soft to me. However, could just be the texture made by the lots of paper clips. Not sure if I would consider this 'extreme' close up. Definatley a close up of sorts though. Extreme to me would be a section of one paperclip, not hundreds. Colors are definately neat. I wonder if this would have a higher visual impact if the center was not dead center. maybe move it off to one side or near a corner. mix it up a bit! ~Heather~ |

Phoneless Cordby whatdewucComment: This shot came up 'randomly' on every single page of thumbnails for me, so I'd better comment on it. I love it. Simple, extremely close up, great focus/clarity. And where you chose to place the subject within the frame is good as well. Maybe not the most 'beautiful' or 'stunning' of pics, but well done, and appropriate for this challenge. ~Heather~ |

About as close as you can getby TacoVendorComment: True, but maybe not close enough for THIS challenge. It's a good photo, I definatley give it that, but I don't consider 1/2 a large cat to be extreme close up. I realize that you couldn't get any closer, but then maybe you could have gotten a different subject. It looks like you got a great pic of a cat and decided to enter it anyway even though it's not extreme close up. Lighting is great, and focus and calrity are great, beautiful cat, and background is not distracting. Like I said, great photo, but maybe not for this challenge. ~Heather~ |

sea shellby pookey83Comment: What's up with the 2 sided border? If it was an accident, it's pretty sloppy presentation, if it was on purpose, I think it's aweful. Lighting seems to be very dull. I think that with a little more lighting, not only would it tone down the distraction shadows, but it could bring out some more detail. I think this fits the challenge nicely, and the subject is neat, just needs something else to make it really punch. A little extra light could definatley help that on it's way. ~Heather~ |

popby klementComment: Not really sure what this is, but it's interesting. I like the color and the placement of the bubble things. My only complaint would be the focus/texture on the top section of the large bubble thing. Looks blurred or out of focus. Kind of appears strange and doesn't go with the rest of the shot. Still fascinating though. ~Heather~ |
