The lighting is good, setup is good, and focus is good. I am not sure if maybe it would be a little better if you hadn't cut off the rack to the left. I'd have to see the 2 pics side by side to determine which i liked better. No annoying shadows of bright spots. Very nicely done. Good luck with the challenge.

This is absolutely beautiful. I was sitting here wondering if it would be a tad better without the trees in the way, and then I'm thinking that the trees looked good in contrast to the sky. I guess I would have to see it taken both ways to be able to judge that. Very nice. Good luck with the challenge.

Great angle. You didn't get too much "other" stuff in your photo. The subject is very clear. I like how the plants are over there on the left. This is definately new. doesn't get much newer than that. Crappy looking sky though, looks like it's going to rain. I know that's not your fault though, If we could control the sky and the weather, we would. I know I'd change something about today, for sure. Great shot and good luck with the challenge.

Bottle Under the Light

Beautiful sun set, but I think I'm failing to see the something new. I can't tell what the bottle is, or what the red thing right next to the bottle is. The lighting could be either brighter so we can make out the objects in the back, or darker so we don't see them at all. There is something yellow hanging from the tree, but can't make out what that is either. I don't get it, but then again, I wasn't there. Maybe the bottle is full of something new, but I don't think we can see that from the picture. I think a close up of the bottle would be good (if that's the center of focus), or you could give up the bottle completely and go for that gorgous horizon! Good luck.

This is a really great pic and I hope you try it again in another challenge, however, I'm not really seeing the "newness" in here. It could be stretched to say that street lights are new, or that "living the fast life" is a newer concept.

I like this photo, however the orange box reminds me more of a pair of men's Nike's cause it looks exactly like a Nike shoe box. Not going to hold that against you though, it's just an observation. I like how the red shoes are laid out, but wish we could see more of the black pair. All in all I think you did a good job. Congrats and good luck.

This little guy is adorable. The photo was taken very nicely and is of great quality. Can actually almost see the individual hairs on his belly. Portrays "new" very well. Only thing that would have been nice is if the tree wasn't in front of his back leg. Of course, I know how cooperative those baby deer can be, so I wont go so far as to be that picky. You did a wonderful job of getting the deer in the photo to begin with. You're doing 100% times better than me on that one. I can't even get a good photo of a giraffe practically licking me on the nose! I don't think animals like me much, never seem to stand still at all. Great job on the shot, and good luck in the challenge.

I love the "splat" effect. This is a very creative idea. I wish we could see a bit more of the actual dough, but I'm not sure if that might take away from something, so I would have to see the 2 different shots before I could really judge that for sure. Lighting and angle are good. There are a few slightly out of focus spots, but I think that only contributes to the "splat-ness" More like motion blur instead of just plain ol blur, so it works. Great job and good luck with the challenge.

I think a darker background may have added something to this photo. The ring sort of blends in with the white background, making the ring not stand out as much as I think it should. I like the way you displayed it. it makes it original that way. The focus is good and lighting is also good. It's only the background that makes it appear a bit bright. Good luck with the challenge.

Not having a particular religious preference, I wasn't aware what the things on top of the testament were. I thought they were carrots, or strange roots. It wasn't until after I asked someone that they told me they were candles. I wish we could see the entire charm on the end of the chain. The lighting is very good. The reference to something new is clear (however the testament it's self is really old) I do like the angle, but think it should be a little wider to show more detail. Good luck in the challenge.
