I like the angle this is taken at and the lighting is great. very nice "non-candid" background. I like that. would love to have seen a drawing of a mouse between 2 pieces of bread though. LOL. The focus and frame placement is great. I don't know anything about cats, or their anatomy, but his "arm pit" is really dark in the photo, making him look like he's been shot. I know (or assume) he hasn't, but where the shadow is, like that, makes it look a bit odd. Otherwise, great photo and good luck in the challenge.

Very nice focus. Lighting is great and the idea is very creative. I like the angle and how the tip of the pencil goes right into the corner of the photo. no distracting glares or shadows. overall very nice. Good luck in the challenge.

Which one were you refering to?? LMAO. Guess it could be either one. We got a really good laugh out of this, seeing as that my mom is a teacher. Pencils do in a way punish children, and this is definately a metal ring or cap.
No pun intended. Or was it?? Great photo. A bit dark, but probably nessasary to keep from having a really distracting bright spot. Great job and good luck in the challenge.

Common Stylus

Clever photo. I like how you turned the calculator upside down for the shot and how you incooperated the pencil. I also love the paper in the background, it adds a great touch. Lighting, angle and focus are good. I like the soft focus on the paper. However, I'm having trouble with the title. (just trying to clarify, titles don't affect my rating) I wasn't sure what a stylus was, so I looked it up. The definition is a "pointed tool used for writing on wax or carving stencils." the other definition is "needle like device used to cut records and also to produce sound from those records". So I am afraid I don't understand the title, but like I said, it doesn't affect my rating. The photo its self is great and that's really what matters. Good job and good luck with the challenge.

Leaden Smolders Above the Rest

Pencils. Definately a lot of pencils. Great photo. You captured the flame nicely. You wouldn't want to see my attempt at photographing fire. I like how the pencils are lined up. repetition always catches my eye. lighting is good. there might be a tad bit of glare on the erasers in the front, but not enough to really distract from the photo. overall a great job. Good luck in the challenge.

I have to wonder if the eyes light up when you stick the pencil in his mouth. is this an actual pencil sharpener, or just a clever place to stick a pencil. The lighting and the angle are both good, however I think the wooden strip at the top of the photo is a little distracting from the photo. Overall great idea. Good luck with the challenge.

I'm not sure what one of these is really suposed to look like, so I have no comparrison, but I think it looks really cool. I like how when the yellow pencil goes into the blue liquid it turns green. The light reflections are cool in the liquid. Great touch with the olives. Good luck in the challenge.

Frustration

I feel your pain. lol. This is a very nice photo. I like the fact that it's in black and white, but would like to see the color version also. The lighting is good. The pencil is kind of in a shadow making it not stand out right away, but no one ever said it needed to stand out, right? I like the angle of this and the focus is in a perfect spot. Great job and good luck in the photo.
