| 08/31/2002 04:48:00 PM | EEEEKKK!!!ABUG!!!by CherylAnnComment: I think this would need to be in perfect focus to work well for me. It is a beautiful dragonfly. the background kind of takes away from his wings though. The lighting was great. As I look at it, it looks like the sharpness of the dragonfly might also be affected by the background. Kind of like the background makes the dradonfly look blurrier than he really is. Not sure. his color is beautiful. certainly better than I could ever do. Great job and good luck in the challenge. |
| 08/29/2002 01:20:00 PM | cheap plastic perfectionby lbstoneComment: Very nice placement and angle. I like how this looks. I also like how we are kind of looking up at the game and controls. Definately depicts childhood. It's a bit dark, but I think the darkness works here. Great shot and good luck in the challenge. |
| 08/27/2002 07:08:00 PM | Could you walk a mile in his shoes?by NitenComment: Very impactful photo. You have the leg braces, and shoes centered very nicely, however, the rug/blanket isn't. I like how you have it in the photo makes it not just plain carpet. The lighting was good for this photo, no distracting shadows or glares. Great job and good luck in the challenge. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 09/01/2002 11:25:00 PM | Best Friendsby spillerComment: can't tell if these are kids in the photo or not. guess it doesn't matter really. challenge really didn't state if there could be photos of kids or not. the lighting and angle are great. the framing is also wonderful. Great job of keeping reflection and glare off the photo. good luck in the challenge. |
| 09/01/2002 11:48:00 PM | NORTH COUNTRY CHILDHOODby camelotnorthComment: Very nice!! I can't wait to find out where this photo was taken! Great lighting and very nice set up. You did a very fine job of not making the photo look cluttered. I think I would like to have seen the photo tilted to the right a slight bit to correct the tilt, other than that...great shot! good luck in the challenge. |
| 08/30/2002 11:52:00 AM | No use crying....by johnsonComment: Cute idea. You chose a great angle for this shot. I like how we can see inside the glass and also see the milk on the table. The bowl is also a nice touch. Lighting is great. there are no glares, shadows or reflections that take away from the overall effect of the photo. great job and good luck in the challenge. |
| 08/26/2002 07:11:00 PM | Special Deliveryby milehighstarComment: At first, I thouhgt that this was either poorly taken, poorly edited, or lost a lot during the upload. I now notice that this effect was done on purpose due to the fact that the original file name is "psyshodelic belly". I will admit that I don't like it very much, due to color distortion, darkness and angle. However, I would loved to have seen this at a side angle, with either full color or black and white. from a bit farther back, and the hands kind of cradling the belly rather than holding up the shirt. I think this was a really great idea, but in my opinion, not well presented. Also, if this is how you planned on it looking, and you are happy with it, then just tell me to shut up, ignore this and try again for the next challenge. Take the photos YOU like, and don't worry about anyone but your self. Good luck in the challenge. |
| 09/01/2002 11:53:00 PM | My first horseby GinaRothfelsComment: Very nice!!! I love how you have him in the sand. Is that a permanent thing or can he be moved?? the lighting and background are beautiful great job and good luck in the challenge. |
| 08/27/2002 06:51:00 PM | Train up a child in the way he should go...by SSonnentagComment: I am assuming that this train belonged to the gentleman in the photo. Personally, I think the photo would have looked better if it were up on the table. It would look more natural that way. Where it is now, it is crooked and kind of distracting from the actual subject of the train. I like how the train reflects in the floor. I am a little confused about the walls though. Are they really that color? I think in order to make that look right, you would have had to seperate the photo right down the middle with the 2 colors. I am thinking you cut off the back part of the train to get the string in the photo. If you scooted the train to the right a bit and set the string off to the side of the train, it would have still looked as good, and would have gotten the entire train in the photo. The lighting is great for this, and the detail of this train is excelent. Very nice job. Good luck in the challenge. |
| 09/01/2002 10:53:00 AM | A Bedtime Story With Dr Seussby jimmspComment: I like how the little bear looks like he's in his jammies. Great depiction of childhood. The angle is good. Was the light in the background contributing to the light source of the photo, or is it just there for looks? If it's not contributing to the light source then I might have turned it off for the photo because it makes an odd orange shadow around the little bears ear. However, that doesn't take away from the photo it's self, it's just an observation. Good job and good luck in the challenge. |
