Wow. Great capture of the bug with it's wings open, I only wish it were in sharper focus. The sharpest focus seems to be the B, as the G looks a bit blurred. The bugs wings are blurred, I assume from motion, but that's not a huge deal. Lighting is ok. Gets a bit bright to the upper right corner, but still a rare capture. nice job. Ew. Definately an unknown species to me. Looks almost more like a clam than a mushroom. A good angle and the framing/cropping is nice. I like how the entire subject fills the frame. The lighting seems to be giving is a blue tint, unless of course it is that way naturally. I think you did a good job avoiding harsh shadows. An interesting shot. Dead butterflies? Not a very interesting subject matter, but the colors are nice. maybe if you had focused on just the wing of one of them, it might make for a more interesting composition. Focus is nice, and lighting seems ok too. Maybe a tad busy with all the different patterns just lain on top of each other. A nice idea though. Good luck in the challenge. ~Hbunch7187~

Well isn't he creepy! Is he one of those pill bugs? Your focus is very nice. The detail you show us here is just great. I love the little shell like plating around the edge. Thanks for doing this shot from his underside, I don't think the other side would be this interesting. The lighting is nice. I wasn't for sure about the colored tint, but as I think about it, black and white wouldn't look as nice, neither would sepia. I think being a bug, the greenish tint works nicely. Great shot.
