I guess I just don't get it, but that doesn't mean it's not a good PJ shot. I'm trying to figure out what looks like ice in the forground, and the really large looking birds. Nothing really looks 'dead' in the shot...but oh well...I'm sure the story that went along with the shot would clear it up, and make for some funny reading, looks like.

While the shot is technically well done, the subject doesn't really interest me much at all. It's a great close up, focus is good, and lighting seems just fine. The 3 blades, or weeds, that are in the 1 bottom left, 2 bottom right, and 3, straight through vertically just to the right of the photo are a tad distracting from the actual ground grass. Not much DOF here. It's almost paper thin. The tiny speck that is in focus on the strings though is nice. We almost totally lose the guitar in the upper right. As an abstract, I think it would work nicely. I would like to see more in focus though. The angle and framing/cropping are very nice, and lighting appears to be good as well. Dinner does not look very appealing from this angle. The little guy is cute though. Looks like this was taken at a resteraunt by the placemats. His head blends in quite a bit with the orangish background wall. The lighting seems ok, and the cropping/framing are good. Focus on the little figure is good too.
