Chaise Pet.by Dan_CottleComment: A terrific, funny, clever photograph. Something like Elliot Erwitt in a wistful mood. 9. |

airplane detailby chromeydomeComment: This is nice. I'm a flier & airplane buff myself & try as I might I can't figure out what aircraft this is. It's a tailplane detail I guess, but it actually puts me in mind of something maritime instead. Anyway, it's a piece of art; both the structure & your photograph of it. 7. |

Helenaby glenncComment: There's a lovely 1960s quality about this, as if Helena is a movie star of that era who turned out to be far too good and complex for the movie industry's subsequent slide into superficiality and banality. A very fine portrait. 7. |

Power Smashby zerocusaComment: It's rare I care for a sports action photograph. But this is indeed a rare one. It's superb. His astounding bodily contortion, combined with the focus of his attention, is fabulous. Badminton is truly the martial art of racquet sports. 8. |

Lockedby homensComment: I don't entirely understand it. That's a plus, as far as I'm concerned. It's graphically striking, and the colours are beautiful, as if organic ... like some rare stone polished by time. 7. |

Blue VWby jAllynComment: It's almost impossible to take a bad photograph of a VW beetle. The simpler ones are best. This is a good one. 7. |

The Ancientby inshaalaComment: Certainly in my top few in this challenge. The milky mist of the water hints at the immeasurable time that your title refers to, and makes a powerful statement about the idea of form and function, and aptness to purpose. Thus about beauty. A living Grecian Urn; a 'foster-child of Silence and slow Time ... beauty is truth, truth beauty'. 9. |

Cobus, My Son. by docpjvComment: I remember Cobus from several years ago, Doc. I don't recall seeing him then, but this is exactly how I imagined he would be. Strong and soft. Powerful and vulnerable. A deep soul. It's a very fine portrait of a complex man. 8. |

Straight on my wayby ladibugComment: A very beautiful, transcendent vision. All is uncertain and ambiguous, but for the clear voice of the direction marker. It's one of those rare images that, like good blues music, is more about the mood and emotion than it is about the specifics. Like the whole is so much more than the sum of its parts. 8. |
