HOOPS by Breeee123Comment: I've seen this setup before a (couple of) year(s) ago. Great capture with that wonderful background gradation and freeze of the jump.
It looks slightly oversharpened but everything else is cool. |

Fallen Angelby frumoazniculComment: This is a brilliant, timeless b&w piece of art. The tones, the exposure, the light, the scene... Best of the year so far. 10+ |

It's Cold Outsideby TransitComment: Interesting, but...
The title suggests that it is cold outside, so does the fur hat, the gloves and the fur coat. Yet the lighting is extremely warm and red, making it look very hot. I also cannot place the cigar in this scene. |

Two wheel racingby boomeraklComment: The wheels off the ground give it the action it needs. Nice still, good exposure and colors.
It looks hot and the curbstones look like Valencia. Shot in spain? (I could be very wrong, because the car has the steering wheel on the Brittish side) |

melbourneby aussieannieComment: What's that? A couple of dingos have invaded the town?
I really like the combo of backlighting and b&w, it works very well with this scene. 8 |

James Toseland (Ten Kate Honda)by AzrifelComment: Originally posted by Pug-H: I do wonder about the white line under the wheels though - why it isn't straight. |
Thanks for your kind words.
The line under the wheels are the kurbstones. The line isn't straight because I held the camera at an angle to create an angled line. When you shoot it straight on, the scene looks flat and dull. This way you create a bit of depth and flow trough the frame.
It's not hard to straighten it out but it looks a lot duller.

Thanks.
I might try DPC prints. The thing that held me back with all my MC shots (I also have similar MotoGP work) is the portrait right of the riders. I don't know how DPC will handle that, but I can try. If you want a print of this let me know. I will try to put it up at DPC or maybe make one myself on good paper if you are seriously interested.

Birth of a Fireby freakin_hilariousComment: Good idea, nice focus and exposure.
I have several of these laying in the magazin but I never thought about using them. We use them to ignite the burners for our roofthatching work. |
