Shades of Scarletby WobbleComment: I like the bright positive impact of this photo. The high key effect is just a tad too much towards the white. 9 |

Bavarian Alps - Germanyby jonpinkComment: The pattern in the sky works well with the pattern on the mountain itself. The light falls great, the houses at the foot give scale and the reflection in the water gives it just that little bit extra. Excellent photo. |

Summer breeze by heidaComment: Very good B&W. It is a very good photo (composition, light, tone etc), but the clouds almost draw the attention away from the girl. It is hard for the eye to find rest. I had already given it a 10 for all other aspects and I'm not going to change that. :) |

Helping Hands (C-Section)by cloudsmeComment: First time that I see this online, but I must say: Very tasteful and well done.
You can see this is a Caesarian Section, but is not too messy. I love it how the head comes out and sees the first light and all this hands are around him (or her) to carefully help him into the world, just like your title says.
I hope they both are doing fine?

Majestic Sailby HRoxasComment: Great clipper portrait, i like it how it has it has its sails out at the front. The light is very good, I like it how the yellow/orange on the ship contrasts with the soft blue of the sky.
Sail 2005 in Amsterdam this year, can't wait. |

Hats off to the Great Skuaby GautiComment: Aren't "Johnny Rooks" (Falkland Islands) also Skua's? Funny to watch, less funny if you are part of that movie. There is this great documentary on Discovery or NGC where they wreck a whole campsite. :)
Nice catch. |

trainstation girlby frumoazniculComment: Cristi, this is one of the most beautiful photos I have seen in 2004 and I think it also qualifies for my personal top 100 ever. I thougth that I had it as a favourite, but couldn't find it anymore. Took me a lot of Googling to find out what the deal was. :)
I don't know what it is, but anytime I look at this I come out at the eyes, always the eyes. They draw me in, they look like they tell a story. Her pose enhances that, there is something she is thinking about....
The grey tone works very well with this.

knottedby theodor38Comment: Mehmet, you are so good with greys, dark vs light and contrast! I'd say your whole portfolio is the best of 2004. :)

Beautifull Eyes!by JeremyFleuryComment: A bit (a lot!) too much neatimage... This is so noise-reducted and smoothed that the skin looks like rubber and the hair becomes a gell-mess. A shame really, because the lighting ain'd bad. |
