Lighthouse "Paard van Marken"by AzrifelComment: There is no grass around the lighthouse. Those are muddy gray stones. The lighthouse regularly has to withstand ice that was pushed over the dike. I was told that ice once pushed the previous version over. Thise one was moved halve an inch by it.
Thanks for your comment Cher. |

Cavalleria Rusticanaby unicumComment: With a shot like this you miss the elements that really tell you that you are looking at a performing opera singer. Apart from that I like the way the foreground singer is lit, it just needs more expression on her face I think. I'm uncertain about the background. While it is excellently thrown out of focus, the background person is so bright that she is distracting. |

Great shot, I like it how the big empty space to the right works out. 9 |

RAWKby BobsterLobsterComment: Great shot, because it perfectly shows the interaction between the musician and his audience. It also looks as if you were pretty close, it shows, as a viewer I feel like I was present. Besides that you've got great lighting and perfect B&W toning. 10 & fav! |

Warming up Backstage by reemasComment: Nice strong diagonal, the uninteresting background is well hidden (during the first few important seconds you look at a pic) by the aperture you used. Interesting content, good composition and good B&W toning. |

Serena Maneeshby turbulensComment: The way the light works with her hair and how her hair flows keeps my eye in top of the frame, looking at here face. I like that effect. Under normal circumstances (when you are not limited to dpc basic ruls) you'd probably clone out the light above the head. So let's think that away and you've got a good portrait. 7 |
