Wood Grainby ladpupmoeComment: This was a pretty cool idea. Interesting use of lighting. The shadow is fine - actually wish I could see all of it. Did you try rotating the shot or image to have the wood object and shadow fall diagonally across the image? Anyhow...have fun, keep smiling! |

made of woodby clictacameraComment: Now that looks like fun. ;^)
This is a decent shot - the time of day (lighting) makes it a bit challenging as some of the whites are a little overexposed. Where did you set the focus/metering? The white on the front of the canoe would have been a good steady spot to get the metering correct and with enough DOF would not have impacted the focus for the rest of the people, etc...
What got lost in the crop? If you cropped water from the lower section that's probably best - could have left a bit more trees in if they were there.
Anyhow...good job overall. Keep smiling and having fun!

Explodeby ZoomdakComment: Wow! That's pretty cool. Makes your eyes dizzy just looking at it. ;^) Wonder what it would look like in an animated gif moving clockwise? |

Critical Careby BradComment: He-he...I almost had as much fun reading the post-challenge comments as I did looking at your photo! ;^)
The cat makes the picture. It stops you, makes you think am I looking in or out? The composition is cool. I think the texture of the concrete wall makes the image appear blurry in that area even though it's not. Looking at the blacks in the image you can tell the noise level is pretty low, but again, the texture inside the waiting room (wall and floor) make it appear noisier than it is. This may have contributed to a small hit in scoring.
I hope the black cat didn't run in front of you...you know, bad luck and all. ;^)
Take care.

Count the gray dotsby lissylouComment: I almost did the same one! ;^) Hard to keep the lines in order... I think this would have worked a bit better if you had included more grid so they weren't so large when viewed in the voting window. This (grey dots) works better in the thumbnail view IMO. Good luck in the challenge. |

The Illusion od a Summer showerby PixelstateComment: It came out pretty decent Chris (yes - I remembered the forum post). Wonder how it would have worked to position yourself to catch a rainbow in the spray? Good luck in the challenge. |

Net Shot Gerbera Xby banmornComment: I was on vacation when the results for Macro V came in and for one reason or another never looked at the top 10 results. This is a very interesting photo. Fun to look at. The main reason I'm commenting is on the way you posted the steps/process you took to create this image. It seems that the "secrets" are kept close to the vest too often - makes it harder to learn. Thanks for sharing. |
