QUEEN VICTORIAby niroComment: It's a statue with human attributes...? Sorry, I was marking some images with a basic comment in case I didn't get back to them.
This image to me looks like a documentary type photo you might see in a college textbook on art. Technically it's ok. The overcast sky is a bit dull/uninteresting - can't always have blue skies. ;^) As for how this meets the challenge I still don't see it as I thought the subject was to be of a non-human looking inanimate object. This statue is very much human looking. |

Personified Marbleby photoventurerComment: It's a statue with human attributes...? Sorry, I was marking some images with a basic comment in case I didn't get back to them.
I like your image here - the DOF is nice with the blurred out background and the statue is very clean (neat imaged maybe?). As for how this meets the challenge I still don't see it as I thought the subject was to be of a non-human looking inanimate object. This statue is very much human looking. |

lighthouse.JPGby alienhelixComment: That's a nice lighthouse. I'll bet it's quite photogenic too! ;^) Had I been driving past it I would have to pull out the camera and take a shot as well.
If I may make a couple of observations? I'm not an expert by any means so please bear with me. First, the lighting is a bit harsh. If you have access to this lighthouse you might want to experiment with some different times of day (dusk/dawn). The distant backgroud is quite hazy, perhaps a UV and or a Polarizer filter would help with this (as well as the time of day). From where I'm sitting it looks as if the lighthouse/horizon is canted a bit to the right - a free rotation of about 2 degrees CCW would straighten it out. And the last observation is the placement of the subject - it's too centered. Looks as if you could maybe even back up a little to help gain some manuevering room in your composition. Again this is all just my opinion.
Hope it has a small grain of usefulness to it! ;^) Smile and keep having fun. |

Forbidden vegetable by LevTComment: Well...I'm sure you'll be seeing many comments on THIS one! ;^) Where did you find that ?? vegetable ?? - I thought it was a pear at first glance. Then you could have done 'Forbidden Fruit'.
I should have looked for another one of these...
...our veggies could have gotten together! He-he. Message edited by author 2005-10-19 08:05:10. |

Put Your Teeth In Dearby macrothingComment: This is funny (title especially), and a good piece of fruit for this shot. The green background kills it for me. I can see how you were using the ROT for positioning but you may have wanted to see what it looked like coming down or up a bit more - it's close to centered. The lighting is a bit dark on the left front of the fruit - a white piece of poster board or a white bedsheet could reflect some light into that area for you. Gets a 4 from me. Good luck in the challenge. |

Échecsby Marc923Comment: I don't know what Echecs means in English, but I like your photo. ;^) Great use of a very commonly personified 'inanimate' object. This is well composed, lit brilliantly, and has a nice DOF feel to it with the foreground pieces placed as they are.
Bumping this up. Good luck in the challenge. |

Stop YELLING at me!by ssanComment: Bit of a heated discussion you could say! ;^) The title helps, but it's a cool (no pun intended) image nonetheless.
Good luck in the challenge. |

Fragile Mortality by cmeierComment: The bulb front left, "leaning" in helps to sell this shot. And of course the neat effect with the single light point is a big plus too! ;^)
Bumping this up. Good luck in the challenge. |

Human Like Qualities!by usiaComment: It's a neat photo, but I don't see how it fits the challenge being that it's not 'inanimate'. |
