CRW_0428 copy.jpgby ButterflySisComment: Those cats sure do like the underside of a Christmas tree. At least mine does. ;^)
You did a nice job of exposing for the white fur on the cat, and including just a little part of the tree works well for the composition.
Now, if you're patient, you should be able to get some of the cat on it's back, paws in the air, and an ornament in motion! ;^)

Golden Gate Bridgeby gaurawaComment: I really like the color range in this image. The dark brown and black to the right, the white foam in the water, and the colorful sky.
This was a tricky exposure and you nailed it! Very well composed also. Can you tell I like it? ;^)

Rainier Sunrise (larger)by GeneralEComment: Very nice image Paul. The canvas texture isn't something that I would normally try but I like how it came out here.
Your Dad's deck?! VERY nice backyard view!!! ;^)

Whitby Abbey.jpgby terryjackmanComment: Wonderful silhouette! Simple color scheme (green, black, blue) really adds impact to this shot, and the sun also of course. ;^)
Nicely composed and I really like the position you took to get the angle.
Great job! Smile and keep having fun. ;^) |

Out, Out, Damn Spotby DiComment: Hey Di - Did you really use a Quantaray 70-300 lens for this shot, or was that an error? I don't see this lens in your equipment list. Was wondering if there was any quality in the Quantaray line - they are priced cheap enough!
Oh, BTW - cool pic! ;^) |

Forked Tongueby hopperComment: This is a neat idea. Seeing how the subject of the image is the fork I wish the fork was in focus. Good choice of B/W to minimize distractions from the subject item. Good luck in the challenge. |

Odd Ballby hollisterGqComment: I'm really bummed to see this image. It's a nice shot, but WHY did you have to post it in one of the outtake threads? I'm just getting around to voting/commenting the last couple of days and had I seen this in the challenge prior to the outtake thread I wouldn't have commented on it in the outtake thread. I would wager you'll take a bit of a hit from those that saw it posted...
Anyway, good luck in the challenge. |

Performance Enhancementby srdanzComment: Srdanz - I almost wonder if the message got lost with the global community here at DPC? I think it's a great idea and certainly shouts "Cheater" - has been lots of publicity about it in US papers for sure. I like the composition, the only down side I have is I think you went a tad too dark for the basketball player. Monitor calibration is an issue here at DPC, and many voters may have had a hard time with this. Just a thought.
Smile and keep having fun! ;^) |
