Clean mud is good mud. :D I like seeing where you've placed the focus directly on his feet. IMO the image may be somewhat busy or overcrowded. The shoes probably could go. Tonal range is ok, might be a tad short on both ends (true white and true black) for a B/W photo. All JMO of course. Best of luck to you in the challenge.

Good oxymoron to use. Unfortunately for you I just viewed the same oxymoron with a sharp, well-lit set of spoons. :( Talk about random chances of that happening. :D Seriously, the oxymoron is good and the image fits just fine. The image itself is ok, but nothing really jumps out and makes any kind of exciting statement. Best of luck to you in the challenge.

Good choice of oxymoron for the image, or vice-versa. :) I like the image for it's simple message. Hoping you don't get dinged too badly for lighting. I know the lighting is basically window light that is available and it suits the image, but I think you're going to be getting some feedback on it being too dark. JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge.

This is the best of the bunch I've seen yet for 'Silent Scream' or similar themes. Very good lighting. Nice, sharply focused. Non-obtrusive background. Something interesting to look at (mouthpiece). Should do ok with this. Good luck in the challenge.

Cute kid pic. He looks like a happy camper! It's so hard to get a challenge entry photo to do well using the camera's on-board flash. It creates heavy shadows in the background. In this case it may have worked in your favor actually since the kitchen counter and cupboards would be distracting if well lit. Best of luck to you in the challenge.
