This is a wonderful capture. Makes me want to leave work early and go hug my little guy. ;^) You've done a great job in the composition, the exposure for lighting is right on the mark and you have a nice tonal range with the black & greys. Good luck in the challenge!

Sorry, don't see the connection to the challenge. ??? Looking past the challenge connection - the image is a little snapshotish. What I mean by that is the composition is too centered and the white on the swans back is blown out (lost detail). A small boost in contrast would help this image pop a little. Pulling down the highlights, and adjusting the black/white points would also be interesting to see applied here. Good luck in the challenge.

Looks like your camera was having a hard time getting focus past the branches as the branches are detailed but the owl is a little OOF. Key is getting the face and eyes sharp. Subject is also a bit centered. Good luck.
