Man Prepares Heroin Injection Near Trainby raishComment: Thanks to your title I had to hunt around and figure out what you were talking about. :D Kind of takes away from the core subject of the challenge theme IMO by directing viewers that way. Good luck. |

Rolling Thru Townby dv_rockComment: Technically it works for the challenge. May take people a minute to recognize it for what it is. The image itself is also busy and the subject doesn't get isolated enough for good identification/exposure - blends in with the surroundings. That cool wall painting in the back left steals the show! :D Good luck in the challenge. |

Wonderland expressby marvinComment: Uh-oh. The use of a toy train is probably going to hamper your score some. That, and the image is quite grainy and a little flat. Lighting could be stronger and why did you go B/W? Color may have been a better choice all things considered. Anyway, best of luck to you in the challenge. |

There are tracks in the background...by MK153Comment: Why are you telling the viewers about "tracks in the background"? Is it because the subject of your image is the car when the challenge theme is about trains & railroads? It's not terrible or anything, just appears that you've made the tracks a secondary item or prop for this photo. Nice job of blurring the background and controlling the reflections on the car. Good luck in the challenge. |

Last Runby levyj413Comment: Maybe if the entire outline of the train "engine" was sharp this would have a better chance? Or, if something had to be out of focal range then make sure the curved front area and "smokestack" are crisp. What's that blue glowing line in front? The lighting is kind of neat overall. Using a toy train kind of doomed you from the start. :( Good luck. |

Too late for Woody (sigh!)by nicklevyComment: Bummer about missing the Woody challenge...you're going to get hammered a little for the use of a toy train I think, at least for this challenge. JMO of course.
About this image. Couple of things jumping out at me. 1) The burn/blurring of the background or table material is quite evident and unnatural. Would have been better off blurring the whole textured area, or if you were removing text or some graphics then do as you have but then blur the whole area afterwards. 2) What's going on by the train on the tracks? Looks grainy like some dodging was done and not healed?
The composition itself is fine with Woody well positioned in the frame, and the train track does a nice job with leading lines. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

graffiti speedby heatherbComment: Oops? Not quite blurry enough to be abstract, yet too blurry to be a photo of merit. |

But Boss, Let me explain...by Prof_FateComment: Interesting to look at in a documentary, photojournalism approach, but a little thin on the artistic side IMO. Hope you got the heck out of there after taking the photo. Thought they were evacuating the area (based on the forum thread I read). Anyway, best of luck to you in the challenge. |

The Cheap Seatsby mssnareComment: It's cute and humorous but as a challenge entry it has a few "distractions" that are pulling it down. Some haloing around the wheels and the persons torso. Miscellaneous items in the background (tree, building, lines, etc...) that take away from the subject. The color of the sky looks a little strange. All of this is JMO of course and others may see it quite differently. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

train on the window paneby posthumousComment: So far, this is my top pick in this challenge. It's unique, and fun to look at. Great use of a fresh POV to add interest. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |
