Unheeded Warningby MaryOComment: It's "ok". Something about the composition is uncomfortable with all of that blank grey sky surrounding a near-centered column. Being that this is an advanced editing challenge you could have legally cloned out the bits of tree leaves at the bottom. Wish I could offer more constructive feedback, but I'm at a loss for assistance on this one. Good luck. |

Northfolk and Westernby JeniYComment: Norfolk - but you probably already know that by now. :D I like the B/W processing you've done on this. You covered the range quite nicely. The POV works well with the gentle curving line taking the viewer thru the image. Should do ok with this. Good luck. |

Wine & Rideby runericComment: Took me a minute to find the train & railroad part of this photograph. I found it. :D I don't know. Something about it, just feels like it's more about the winery sign than trains & railroads. It's a well executed image as far as your technicals go (focus, exposure, etc...) Composition is where it comes up a tad short for me. Sorry. JMO. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Retired-Strokeby bladComment: Hmmm. It's "ok". I say that only because the subject itself is a little plain-jane. Technically the image is fine overall, maybe a little underexposed. I think there is abstract potential here with a different post-processing approach and color tone selections. All JMO of course. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

LAST TRAINby NaldComment: She's a very attractive model and this is a nice photograph of her. One minor problem - she is the subject of your image. The theme for the challenge is trains & railroads. In this case the theme is secondary and being used as a prop alone. JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge. |

.: X :.by AlainComment: Ok. It's an X. :D I can see where you were going with this and I like the way you've set it up (framing/composition). With the shallower DOF I'm finding the soft focus makes it look even less focused, like the X itself isn't crisp enough. I have to look to the rocks on the side to find the true focal point. Nice color and tones overall. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

On Trackby elizadebComment: It's ok. Almost would have been better coming in closer and losing one of the wheels. Seems too balanced this way IMO. The image is sharp and well focused with a nice job of processing applied. The rust color comes off well. Good luck in the challenge. |

Midnight Expressby whiteroomComment: This is a polarizing image. Meaning that some are going to really like it, and some aren't - the processing that is. I find it interesting, not overly fond of it, but don't hate it either. Sorry if that sounds like I'm on the fence with this one, because I am. :D Reminds me of another image I've seen on DPC some time ago of a bus. Was it you? Hmmm...have to check you out after the challenge. Good luck! |

Engine 88by tembaComment: Nice. Simple, clean, nice landscape. Some color. The engine looks like it could be a little sharper focus wise, but overall pretty good. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Alresford Stationby kanoComment: This looks like a quaint little part of town. Fun place to walk around some with camera in hand. :D The image is fine for the most part. I do find my focus as a viewer split between the left and right sides of the track, then down the line. Hard to find a comfortable place to rest and visit this image for awhile. Honestly, there isn't anything really jumping out saying "look at me", but it's ok. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |
