I really like this. It's a fun take on the challenge. I do think it would be a tad stronger presentation if the 'Painter' was in color also. Good luck in the challenge.

I totally missed the vanishing point in this during the challenge. I kept looking to the farm on the left wondering if the fence was supposed to be the vanishing point and that didn't really do it. Then I wondered if there was some deeper philosophical point I was missing, like farms are vanishing, etc...

Never looked INSIDE the bus for it. Now I see it! :D

Too clever for your own good on this one Skip. :P

Cool concept. I like the contrast, the black void, and the desat works well. Seems a bit oversharpened IMO. The bug? Certainly looks deceased. Good luck in the challenge.

When I look at this I feel I want more. Like that tiny little speck of color is a big tease. :) Technically this is within the spirit of the challenge and everything, but the subject selected doesn't lend itself well for selective desat IMO. It's also possible that I could be missing the point of the exercise. :P Good luck to you in the challenge.

This has a nice feel to it. Works well for the desat theme. The photo is well composed and is interesting to look at. If I had one complaint it would be that once you get past the front wall the focus isn't strong enough. A deeper aperture perhaps? Just a thought. Best of luck to you in the challenge.

Wow. Have to work really hard to figure out what's been left to color. The theme and title is cute. Did you look at this cropped in substantially tighter to bring more focus to your subject (the eye)? I think the story of 'Freedom' could still be told that way. Just a thought. Good luck in the challenge.

Nice emotive shot. Certainly leaves the viewer wondering what the story is. I associate the title and setting with an engagement type announcement yet it appears to be a man that is surprised. Did she propose to him? Did he win something? Did he just find out he's going to be a new dad? Hmmm...hopefully the story will surface after the challenge?

You did a nice job of isolating the glass and liquid for the desat. I think it would be a tad stronger if you had left the non-liquid part of the glass in grayscale (stem and uppper glass above the liquid).

This is interesting and a little strange at the same time. First, it's a very nice composition. I wish the rose 'bud' center area had a little more DOF and focus. As for the strange part...it seems weird to see beads of water in color on a B/W image. JMO of course. Maybe if it was a red rose initially instead of an orange/yellow one? Nice effort on isolating the selected drops in a seamless manner. Best of luck to you in the challenge.

Now there's a familiar face. :) Nice job of controlling the edges of color/greyscale. Good luck in the challenge.

Hmmm...doesn't really work for me. It's a nice motion blur shot (zoom while shooting?) and might even look alright with the red car and the rest greyscale. ??? Good luck.
