Andromedaby scalvertComment: "...and a tripod that was only roughly polar-aligned..."
What's polar-aligned mean?
That galaxy is very cool looking. |

Rainbow Twistsby banmornComment: Great idea. Looks good overall. On my monitor at work it seems like this could use a boost in contrast. Good luck in the challenge.
Follow up: Yep, my work monitor is lousy. The contrast looks fine on my home monitor. :D |

Gimme a York...by tfarrell23Comment: Yum! :) Nice idea. The blue/purple shadow & tints (color balance adjustment needed) is drawing attention away from the primary subject. JMO of course. Good luck. |

Home Grown by elizadebComment: Cute and clever idea. Needs some contrast or level adjustment to make the black actually black. |

Day 10: Shroomsby jasonlpriceComment: Sweet. I love simple compositions like this (haven't I said that before?) :)
Great use of shallow DOF, and the slight slope/diagonal adds some energy. Very nice! |

Day10.jpgby FotoMunkiComment: Nice use of natural light and spot exposure. I like this effect (used it on one of my earlier B/W 30-day photos) and mucked around with it the other day some as well. Definitely a technique to keep in the back pocket. Glad you pulled it out here...very nice. |

Day 9 - Blue Coal Companyby bs-photosComment: Almost looks like an IR shot. Taken with a very WA lens?
It is an interesting (and sad) photo to see the scar left behind by closed industry. BTW - How DO those top level windows get broken anyway? Target practice? :) |

Day 10 - Candleby BarbBComment: Interesting lines, and I'm seeing some blocks of dark tone in the background (my work monitor isn't the best). I kind of feel like I want something to be a little sharper...it's a very soft image, but in some places that's effective. Perhaps this is one of those times? :)
Follow-up: Yep, the work monitor is lousy. The blacks look fine here now. :D Message edited by author 2007-09-10 20:30:51. |

Day 09 Bottling Nightby WalesPComment: I'm at a loss as for what to say. It's "ok" as an image. Seems a bit static and documentary. Now I feel somewhat like Simon on American Idol. :P |

Day Ten.jpgby RoosterComment: Interesting...thought provoking.
Fine subject for B/W treatment. Little bit hot on the skin, particularly her hand. |
