Fountain Square by Nightby brillbComment: Dang. This photo is so busy with all of the color and bright lights, the blurred lines of the car lights are nearly lost. Cool starbursts on the larger lights. :)
I know Skip is a fine photographer here at DPC, but I didn't know he owned a market. :P
Good luck in the challenge. |

is the hound pound bound?by boysetsfireComment: This is a cute photo (I think). Hard to tell much about the dog. Does he/she have any "clothes" on at all? Too far away to tell for sure. Is there a connection between the dog and the red object on the sand, or is that an incidental item?
Compositionally you've followed some good rules with using ROT on the beach and water line, and the red object in the lower left.
Would I think 'Speed' just looking at this photo without a title? Maybe. With the title it's even more confusing what the storyline of this photo is.
Sorry if I'm missing something obvious. Will be returning after the challenge to see if some of the questions are answered, and to see what others had to say about this as will. Should be a good read. :P
At any rate, good luck in the challenge. |

Speed at night in Chicagoby mjcarpenterComment: A slightly longer exposure time (not too much) would help this with the speed impact (light trails). To really make this work the background lights of the buildings and the overhead road sign should be crisp, not blurry. JMO of course. :) Good luck in the challenge. |

Choose Your Speed - Data Pathsby JMartComment: Quite an assortment you have there. :) As a photo it's a bit static and kind of cluttered. The right side of this wanders off to the top right with a slight curve. This throws off any sense of order. The assortment would be better displayed in a photo also by aligning the focal plane of your camera with the items (you're coming in at an angle). A bit more light to make it bright and shiny would also help, along with more contrast. All JMO of course. :P Good luck in the challenge. |

Built for speedby parallaxComment: That looks like fun! :) Nice catch. One minor nit...I keep getting drawn to the top left corner. I know it would screw up the aspect ratio to crop down from the top some. Hmmm. Worth considering I guess. Good luck in the challenge. |

Ferry Speedby jaysonmcComment: Cool shot of the sky. Guess that's what you liked the most about this? The contrast of the shadows on deck add a nice element. Not getting much of a feel for speed with this however. Good luck in the challenge. |
