woah!by AliciaComment: He-he. Finally figured it out. What does look like a frog is actually the tail feathers as the bird is moving away from the viewer. :-) I had to look at that WAY too long! Who knows, that may have scored some points for you. With a cute title I'd have given this at least a 6.
One thing that immediately jumps out is the cirle framing created by the tree limbs. Very unique. It may be an optical illusion, but it seems like you have some purple fringing going on around the branches of this tree.
Just some observations. :-) |

Prince on Guardby karenkComment: Nice, fun portrait. The natural lighting has given the blacks a bluish tint that could be warmed up a little with a color temp adj. Good luck in the challenge. |

Whistler's Motherby skewsmeComment: Cool bg effect. It's fun how you can see the photographer in the reflection of the eye. :-) This image almost has a painterly/graphic feel to it from the processing applied. |

Speeding Swanby sfmorrisComment: Nice action shot. The vignette seems opposite of what it should be and the darkening of the center makes this shot seems underexposed. Just my observations. Good luck. |

IMG_2421_a.jpgby MikeOComment: I like this one much better than what you entered. The bg color accents the bird well, and the diagonal of the branch has a more natural flow for the viewer. This outtake may be a tad underexposed but only slightly and easily fixed with a minor PP adj or two. Add a small dose of sharpening...
...and he/she has a tail! :-D |

Sheby robinssongComment: I really like the composition of this shot, the way the bird is looking back into the image area. Well positioned in the framing, and the bg bokeh adds a nice touch. I know it's easy to armchair quarterback this, but if there had been just a small amount of fill light (flash set to -1 to -1.7) this shot would really stand out.
Just a couple of observations. :-) |
