Sharp, vibrant, and real. Refreshing change of scenery from the many studio/staged photos. While I gave this a 10 earlier (coming back around to comment) I wonder if this wouldn't be a touch stronger presentation if you lost a bit of the top and left. ??? I enjoyed this image quite a bit and gave it a 7. I think what held it back was the flag in front taking too much of the attention. I would have given it a 9 or 10 without the flag and just the OOF shoes and hopscotch sidewalk (I think). :-) Of course, then your creativity would have been hammered by the "there's nothing in focus" group.

You have a nice dried flower arrangement working here. Why'd you have to toss in a naked lady? Makes the subject of this photo more than the flowers, although I imagine your views are skyrocketing. :-) Good luck.

I think you'd have been better off without the large drop on the right and just gone with one. Other than that, and this type of imagery being somewhat cliche-ish now at DPC, it's a fun photo and the bg color is great. Good luck!

While this is interesting, I think the "drop" is WAY too big and loses any credibility to being an actual waterdrop. Otherwise you have nice detail and clarity. Good luck in the challenge.

Breathtaking! I can nearly put myself on the spot. Wonderful catch of this morning scene. In retrospect, I wonder if this may have worked better just cropping (or composing) this without the treetops?

I really enjoyed this image when I came across it during voting. Great use of LB to solidify the storyline you so wonderfully captured! I was one of your seven 10's. Wish it had placed higher but I'm not surprised (duotone, grainy, blur, etc...) - it places high on the "artsy" scale. :-)

I had to come back and see what the story might be on this one. I had picked this as a top ten (or twenty at least) and gave you a 10. Surprised (shouldn't be I guess) that it came in at 70th.

When I first looked at this image I was a bit shocked to see an attractive woman in an obviously real (or way over the top staged) war (or training) scenario. Second, I wondered why this soldier wasn't wearing a helmet. The lack of a helmet put a slight tinge of feeling this could be staged. Then I looked deeper into the photo and noticed the military shelters in the background. I was then convinced this was the real deal.

After having to spend so much time wondering, questioning, admiring...I had to give it a 10 for making me stop for such a long consideration!
