Wave Runnersby lynnesiteComment: Oh MAN! If only this had the subjects sharper - combined with the panning - would be seriously top notch. I still like it...but DANG, what potential! Good luck in the challenge. |

killin' timeby laurie241Comment: A little heavy on the noise reduction, but a nice photo nonetheless. The blue paperbox and the blue jacket make this shot work. Nicely seen. |

Candid cyclistby snafflesComment: Looks like you've pushed this too far in post. ??? I say that because of the grain/noisy areas and the flatness of the photo (it needs toning down and more contrast IMO). I will say that you've created an authentic street scene of some interest. Good luck in the challenge. |

The Stare of Curiosityby Shutter-For-HireComment: I think the story in this photo would be strong enough to stand on its' own. The selective desat is understandable in intention...just not sure that you needed it. As someone who's seen many photos here at DPC it feels like you're trying to hold the viewer's hand and force them to see what should be evident. Maybe it'll work and help your score (many voters don't take the time to slow down and look...your post-processing should direct them to the point in the first couple seconds). I do hope that you've kept this in a B/W format and put a print up somewhere to enjoy it. :-)
Good luck in the challenge. |

All together, totally apart.by bob_bobskiComment: I like the natural ease in which this photo can be viewed. The comp is strong with subjects placed strategically in the frame with a nice implied leading line. Good eye to see this...good luck in the challenge. |

Standing the test of time.by mtgrosethComment: That's a nice barn. What part of Michigan is that from? I'm a Michigander from years ago.
Tricky adding a sky bg with trees in the image. The tree on the left gives it away a little in the right side branches. Errr...one other minor nit...the barn is leaning left (I checked the horizon and it's running left on you also. Just something to consider if you're going to be doing any touchup to this. |

Eggosaurusby scalvertComment: I think it's the nature of this bird, but the head doesn't look that sharp, and seems close (if not there) to being a little overexposed. Overall, has a "snapshot" feel to it. Fun shot to show the kids, but not a challenge contender (at least not for wildlife) IMO. |

Curlyby scalvertComment: Uh-oh. This one tops the otter one IMO for the specified challenge. The otter is a nice shot, but I'd suspect many thought it was a zoo shot. This, while technically a possible "captive" shot, shouts out as a wonderful, colorful image that is more likely "wild".
Very nice capture here Shannon. |

Xrayby scalvertComment: If the newt was in full silhouette, maybe...I like how the softbox made the leaf texture really stand out. |
