Apparitionby wbanningComment: Interesting in that it appears to be inside with an old ceiling overhead and a wiring box on the wall, yet where the chair sits looks to be outdoors. Nice treatment on the post conversion. |

The End by vawendyComment: Ok. I want to know ... did you capture this in Virginia?! There's a small herd in the Southwest part of the state which I would love to see someday. :-) |

its an awesome photo for the challenge btw .. and even more so after reading your backstory ..
and wow .. going without power for over five days .. not great ..
we used to lose power a lot where i live .. and when there was a storm we'd fill up bottles and the bath with water just in case .. as when we lost power we dont have anything .. we have a tank for water and a pump that pumps the water into the house .. so when the power goes out ... no water .
fortunately the power doesnt go out as much these days ..
in voting i actually thought the tracks were from some animal .. but now reading your notes i'm thinking it was you going backwards and forwards cutting that tree up .. hope you had stocked up on supplies before the tree came down ..
a positive is good wood the fire tho .. :) |
Thanks Roz! The tracks around the tree are us walking up and down the driveway to check out the road and other damage, etc. The tracks in the field are from my son, being smart, and not walking underneath the OTHER large pine trees still carrying snow weight in the driveway. :-)
As for the wood, unfortunately, it's a pine tree and not good for much except for sticky sap and a pain to cut up (which we did the day after this photo). Can't burn it in the fireplace (creosote buildup concerns in the flue). |
