Soaring Highby all4uComment: Nice idea. The image is a little on the soft/fuzzy side. Also looks like some additional contrast would help some. Were you including the foreground for context? Is it something she is jumping off of? It almost looks like a mistake. Not sure how to explain it...sorry. I guess if you are going to have the wall there, include a little bit more or lose it entirely. You had a nice sky to work with. A polarizing filter may have deepend the blue some for you. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Mid Airby timfythetooComment: Nice contrast and color here. One of the first things that comes to mind when I viewed this image. You've done a nice job of stopping the motion. The image is well exposed and sharp. Should do ok with this one. Good luck in the challenge. |

Flyingby alexgarciaComment: Not sure the vignetting is needed here. At least not for me...it's more of a distraction than helpful given the size of the subject in the overall frame. The feathers on that gull are mighty smooth! Looks like some detail was lost along the way in post-processing. Yes? Noise reduction was likely a little too heavy. I really like the warm lighting on the gull - very well exposed for this light. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Turning on the Waterby Shy ClickerComment: Oops! A bit on the small size. Probably already heard that a few times by now... I think the concept of your image is fine. There are a lot of water shots in this challenge, but yours is unique. Looks like this wall is in the shade causing it to be underexposed some. You can try using some fill-flash in this situation. If your camera allows adjusting the level of flash output knock it down a few stops. I've found -1.3 or -1.7EV to work well for a fill light adjustment. Good luck in the challenge. |

mighty aphrodite by SkipComment: Good choice to rotate this. Works great this way. I'll be surprised if this doesn't make the front page. Stopped motion - yes. Fun to look at - yes. Clean, sharp, properly exposed, and easily identified subject - yes. Well done! |

Into the seaby chakkobboComment: Yikes! I hope he clears those rocks! I like seeing this in B/W. I think it probably helps to keep the focus on the jumper and eliminate other distractions. Only suggestion is maybe to add a shot of contrast - looks a tad bit flat. Good luck. |

Backyard Commandoby 3eyedcrowComment: I love this shot. Very nice capture of the 'commando' in the air AND the water is stopped nicely too. Added noise intentionally? If yes, you're a brave soul. ;^) The B/W tone works well here, might be a tad light on contrast. Good luck in the challenge. |

Hot horsesby snafflesComment: They look hungry to me. ;^) Ok. I'm not sure where to look. You have multiple subjects here, none of which are totally in the photo. Image is a bit dark (heavy shadows), and the image is a little soft and blurry. I'm thinking that the horse's tail is what drew you into taking this image? The motion there has been stopped so you're fine for meeting the challenge in that regard. Sorry I don't have much positive to say. I think the biggest single thing holding this image back is a clear story line. Best of luck to you. Keep at it! |

A decision moment of "Hit" or "No Hit".by FocusPointComment: Nice job freezing the ball! The red batter's shirt gives this image a nice pop. The background is a little distracting (cars) but not sure what the workaround is for that. BTW - did he hit it? ;^) Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Pulling Awayby TommyMoe21Comment: Nice and crisp, especially the jockey. A little blur around the horse's hooves, but nothing too major. Nice color, background isn't too distracting. Well done. Good luck in the challenge. |
