Class shot. I like the idea and I think you have pulled of a first class shot. Having said that, I believe that framing the subject further to the right would have given this shot 10 appeal. I know that the thirds rule isn't broken here, but the negative space to the right of the subject is far too overpowering and kills the primary subject by tugging the attention away, which is in total contrast to the left of the subject… (8) Ok (9) then… I really do like the shot despite all that.

I like the colours in the shot, but the composition division between trees and water is far too central. This creates conflict between the two halves and makes the image hard to view. Try cropping the horizon line between top at bottom a third from the top or bottom and see what you think… Just my opinion, good luck… (4)

The theory of order out of chaos is well founded in this shot. This is superb in every respect apart from one small, but hugely slap in the face, point. The white balance… If the white balance had been set, the colour cast wouldn't be there. This may have been by design, but I think it takes an awful lot away from a picture that – I think – could have been stunning. The confusion in the shot creates a superb sense of drama and that element is out of this world; it's inventive and it fits the challenge… (8) Sorry to score this as low as that, I think it's fantastic apart from that cast…

Ordinarily I'd shout – NO BLOOMIN CATS! But this is a truly superb shot, so I can't. I laughed for ages… This is the best pet picture I've seen for a long time. Judging by the lighting, I'd say this was done in direct sunlight to get the cat lit properly. Not easy, and I expect it took a few goes getting the cat right. I can only award this a best of breed picture, but it deserves to do well by wit alone… (10) Really like the inventiveness and style…

Superb idea, well executed. I like the way you have done this; the hand was perhaps, not such a good selection because of the definition problems created by the virtually uncontrollable DOF. Perhaps a car – or even just the window frame would have slightly improved the shot. Having said that – it holds the attention and meets the challenge. (9)
