For some reason, that strong hot lighted area takes away from the kid's expression for me. I wish it didn't have those blown highlights.

ps. why validate? I do this with my kids all the time...

Here is an excellent example of how you can use computer to display an image on it and still not break any rules. One of my favourites. Novel approach, the only thing is the vague connection to the challenge topic. had to bump it up to 8.

I like the contrast between the white lace the model is wearing and the dark background. Image is just grainy enough for my taste. I'm only not sure if the white lingerie piece on the sofa is too attention grabbing. Probably could have done without it. 7.

This is valuable historical shot... newsworthy event somewhat downplayed in Bobby's ex home country. It lacks sharpness though, but that enhances the newspaper look of the photo. Perfect fit for the challenge too. 8 from me.

My low score has nothing to do with creationism v. evolution. I subscribe to the latter, but this image has been taken obviously through some kind of a window, and a dirty one. There is a pretty large and bad reflection in the middle bottom, and a unnecessary distracting line on the left that should have been cropped out. The remainder of a background is too busy. I hope you do better in the future, this was a good idea not executed well enough.
The positives: the ape's expression is for at least a 9.
