Dust in the Windby tateComment: Was the shadow on the right side desired, or something that was left behind? I think that you could have done without it, as it does not contribute to the photo (its position with respect to the main instance is unclear). |

Falls Colour Paletteby zapgrafxComment: Nice! The water looks as if it is boiling. Although colors are nicely balanced, there is nothing that pops out in this photo. There is no main subject, my attention wanders from the boil (the most interesting area) to the green grass in the upper left (attracts attention but not really interesting) to the leaves in the upper right (could be more attractive but are in fact less appealing to the eye). Could be better... |

Come Pee Wee!!by avbowlerComment: Nice catch and nice focusing! Would have been even better without that green splat in the background. You should attempt cleaning it up after the challenge since you did not have the freedom of advanced editing during the challenge. |

Equilibriumby MontagueComment: Nice stop motion, but for the splash photos to win, you have to put it in some context. If you look at the recent ribbon winner .) , you'll notice that there is more than just a drop of water in the bowl. There is an interesting background and the overall composition is much better there. You also have unwanted reflections (I imagine these are unwanted because they do not contribute to the photo at all, and if it does not help the photo, it ruins it Message edited by author 2005-11-09 07:25:00. |

Sleeping in Vivid Colorby Drummerjd356Comment: courageous or stupid... I'm not sure.
Well, back to the photo: nice take on the trail of lights. Nice composition, but the lights of the incoming traffic are too bright. Perhaps either a smaller aperture (if not stopped to the max already) or lower ISO (if not lowest already) or a ND filter would have helped this.
Please, do not re-shoot! (and do not take offense at the opening statement, but Darwin awards are full of stories like this one:) |

I Think I Jump...Now!by cyanComment: This one seems to be out of focus, Good moment capture, good composition, nice choice for b&w, but the image is too soft. |

Always Having To Juggle My Emotions by ColeyComment: My pick for a ribbon. Good use of the extra rules, could have been more realistic if you placed some pumpkins in between your hands, but oh well. Bumping up. |

Rearview Sunsetby briantammyComment: Wow! Much cleaner than mine .
One thing I would suggest (try it out and see what it looks like) is to try to darken the 'direct' truck some, leaving the whole focus on the mirror.
ps. I'll add yours as a cross-reference in my details. |
