aaronbathtripsmall.jpgby trobergeComment: It's too small here to tell if that thing in his hair is foam, and you should probably clone it out unless it is obvious in large print.
I also have a feeling that the frame is thicker on the rightmost side than on the leftmost side.
Compositionally, it is appealing as the boy's attention (viewing direction) is directed from left, through the middle, to the right.
Nice! |

Nov7.jpgby gurlwithapenComment: I would try two things with shots like this one:
- try removing background. You have a textured table top (?) as your background, but your main subject has bubbles in it that is interesting in itself and does not neet to compete for attention with anything else.
For the intended b&w composition, placing a dark preferably black cloth underneath the ball could do it.
- experiment with different angles and different lighting options. Even without softboxes and fancy studio lights, you can try something like shooting the ball in a darkened room, and try using e.g. flashlight or a candle as your light source. You would put a camera on a tripod so that you are not limited by the exposure time. |

Sparkling hot Redby pellemannenComment: You should have cropped out more of that stuff on the left - it does not help the photo at all. Actually, it would not even spoil the composition if it weren't in the photo, you could still have that glass in the lower/right 1/3rd of the photo. |

Light my fire!by holidayComment: Time to clean your sensor:-) Nice photo, since it is basic you could not clone those hot pixels and dust spots. Nice capture of the flame. |

The studioby hannafateComment: Well, the challenge stated "artificial" light source and yours look like a daylight that is coming from the window.
Still, hardly a dramatic image. And although there is no way around it, using a wide angle lens inside causes right angles and straight lines to warp, as observed in this image. Sometimes it provides with dramatic effect, but in this one it subtracts from the image (in my opinion that is).
Good luck! |

Lookby arash1987Comment: This doesn't come across as a flattering image to me. I think that you would have been better off with a tighter crop, both from the top and from the bottom, leaving the nostrils and half of the forehead out of the photo. Eyes are beautiful and do not need the nose for distraction. The top would go out because of the symmetry. |

Shining Throughby angela_packardComment: I think that the challenge specifically stated "single, artificial light source"... oh well. It does seem like the light comes from your direction on the grass, so that would be a stretch to fit. However, the subject is still not dramatic for high score. |

Pensiveby Viking054Comment: Love the diagonal composition and the light. I had similar idea (image 258266 in my portfolio) but this one works much better. You've added drama and mood with the lighting. Good luck! |

Sophisticationby photogenixComment: Very nice photo. It almost looks like a face. Oh, well, the longer I look at it I see the face, with chin, neck, eyes, and hair, wonderful! (And no, haven't had anything to drink or otherwise). |
