day-8-Edit.jpgby ZeppKashComment: Great pattern. Coloration change adds a lot to this item. Wonder what would happen with a white point chosen at the lightest of the grey? A very narrow tall crop would really punctuate the pattern's variation. |

Day-11.jpgby ZeppKashComment: What a great capture. Strong focus. Beautiful detail in the wing. I think a square crop would have done more to entice an extra point if this was a DPC voted challenge. Healthy burn/dodge ala Heida (on the gravel) would add a huge amount of interest to the whole. |

LG day-2by scwalshComment: Picture of an LED screen. ICK. Redeeming quality is the focus and detail of the pixelation in the screen itself and would max out a strong finish if that focus was cropped in to include nothing but the screens detail. |

day 3 by scwalshComment: The best of this series. Crisp, nice contrast. Perfect focal Depth and a solid diagonal that leads through the image! |

day 4by scwalshComment: I like the coloration, but red gets killed on this site (not sure why, but it looks mottled) Not even remotely concerned with the highlight on the left, but it would get killed in a challenge. Would be a great composition for a directional/compass challenge! |

day 5 by scwalshComment: Tonal range/lack of contrast in this makes it a bit flat. Would like to see the histogram stretched a bit on this one and think it would pop a lot more. |

day 6.jpgby scwalshComment: I love it. Not head on, not flat. Great position on the square vs circle and happy to see the edges in each corner. Bit of a purple tint on this that makes me feel like there is a light casting that could have been shifted back to chrome/silver. |

day 7by scwalshComment: A great choice for the end of the week and your cellphone series! |

day 8 by scwalshComment: This appears like the curves are inverted. (Kind of like my fly image) I think that the angle of lighting on this one hurt badly. It has great potential, think an approach from the tip at an angle would have worked better, else, a background that compliments the silver of the screwdriver. |

day 9by scwalshComment: Good crop. Subject is unique and worthy of study. Angle of approach is flat/sideways and creates minimal interest. An approach from the front or top at a leading angle with diminishing DOF would really add to the study of the trigger and sprayer/spicket? Grey background helps to keep flat surface lighting even, but really competes with the subject. In a DPC voted tools challenge, I would predict a 4-5. As a side challenge presentation a great choice for study. |
