If this is legal (this type of border seems like creating a major element to me, assuming you created the border in photoshop or the like), it's an interesting effect, though I might have chosen to use it with a different subject, perhaps something involving more action. Be careful when creating your border though, the thickness of the brown line seems to vary on different sides, which makes it feel kindof unbalanced.

The white part of the border is uneven, making the photo feel unbalanced and the black part is so big it's overpowering.

I like the color and composition very much, but there's something unsettling about the rather jagged edges on the stumps. I'm not sure if this is a resolution thing or oversharpening or what, but it hurts what could be an excellent photo.
