Welcome to the third world.by asijComment: This shot is great, I really like the flares from the blown out areas, and the background is really good for the shot. |

Wood Elf by kosmikkreeperComment: It's a shame you chose this position for her, because her hait almost gets lost in the shadowy backgorund. If she was a bit more to the left then her hair would be against the green and she would stand out better. I think the soft focus effect was applied a little too strongly too. |

Le Petit Chaperon Rougeby AmiYuyComment: I think it's a little bit too bright. The soft focus looks good but it also washes out around the highlights. If you exposed this slightly less I think i would like it more. |

Abandoned Troll Bridgeby L1Comment: I think the soft focus is used too strongly here. A little bit more subtle would have looked better. |

Thumbelina - "A graceful butterfly constantly fluttered round her"by ccraftComment: Overall I like the shot, but I think the way you have blurred the background to create a false DoF ruins the shot. I don't like the way the edges of the objects in it are blurred either. If your camera can't achieve real DoF, you could try taking a photo of the background, putting it into photoshop, then gaussian blur that. Afterwards, display the blurred background on your computer monitor, and place your props in front of it. That way you get a more realistic looking out of focus background without having to worry about using the selection tools and ruining the sharp edges of your props in the final photo. |
