With a title like that, the very thin crop with the thick border is kinda the opposite and makes the photo feel very claustrophobic.

I like the high contrast B&W feel, but overall it looks a little soft and there are halos around everything, maybe from incorrectly applied USM?

Clever! How did you get that to stay? It's a good idea but the colours and lighting in the actual photo are a bit dull I think.
