Wow! at least a $620 went in to making this shot. I like the statement and feel it meets the challenge criteria, however...

Wall textures are a bit distracting as is the reflection from the flash on the wall and trashbag. The shadows are a bit harsh behind the trashcan.

I'm not crazy about this shot. IMHO it lacks composition and appears more snapshot-like. The shadows are a bit distracting and the focus seems a little off.

So very true! I like the image by itself as well as the somber tone you have created. Black and white works very well for this particular capture. I feel that the block wall in the foreground and the trees in the background are a bit of a distraction. Maybe a slightly different angle that would have incorporated less of the trees and none of the block wall would be more appealing. I also feel that it falls short of the challenge. Although the title references the challenge, the photo alone says nothing of material wealth.

I love this image! I'm a new father and a bit of a sucker for these shots (especially since I've been planning to shoot something very similar to this with my son) A new child can truly make you feel like the richest person alive... I hope the message isn't lost during voting.... maybe a different title could tie it in to the challenge a little better. IMHO more contrast would give it a little more punch... great capture though - 9
