A very pleasing contribution to the open challenge

An excellent macro Gin Tay, perfectly executed. Great control of the tiny DOF with good sharp detail where it matters most. Good lighting and colour throughout, I love the iridescence on the wings. This is not an easy shot to get right, you've done well to get this excellent result, well done

An appealing image that meets the challenge well

You've struck the right note with the warm vibrant colours of the flower very typical Kodachrome. I like your off-centre composition it works well and is nicely isolated from the very soft focus background. The background lacks any detail which is no problem but the brighter green strip is somewhat distracting it would have been a lot better if you could have had more uniformity of colour either dark or light throughout. Given the lack of detail in the background I think a smaller aperture, say f8, would have given you more DOF in the flower without bringing out too much detail in the background. All in all a pleasing image Stuart, its a shame you didn't have any other feedback...
