 The famous Oktoberfest (the original) takes place in Munich from the end of September to the first weekend of October. It's a popular festival not only among locals but also among visitors from all over the world. This festival has a history spanning over 200 years and is truly unique with its many traditions. Last year, 6.7 million people visited Oktoberfest.

Sadly, in 1980, a politically motivated assassin placed an explosive device in a wastebasket. The attack left 13 people dead and 211 injured, 68 of them seriously.
Today, a plastic memorial with light-reflecting sides depicting the outlines of the victims stands on this spot. I was there recently and took this photo of the steles. It was a cloudy day, but I also had to close the aperture as wide as possible and turn the ISO all the way down. After that, I was able to achieve this zoom effect (handheld).
