the first thing i notice is the white fur on the tiger, not sure its a good or bad thing but it def. stands out to me. I think it might be slightly blown out. Seeing your original i would say that this is def. a tough shot to covert to black and white without the aid of levels or curves so I would say as far as tonal range you have a few white, not too many light greys, a lot of dark greys and blacks. Good job with the exercise, now to bring the image to its full potential feel free to go ahead and do levels and curves to improve it.

i had a feeling this was yours... its a really spontaneous, fun shot and its good to see you try something different. it is really one of those shots where its a love it or hate it reaction.
