Paradise Bakeryby AliciaComment: Very nice, Alicia. He is pretty! The processing is awesome for an artsy rendition of a street scene. I love it.

KS22308-622FW.jpgby nomad469Comment: I love it. I love the darkness with the light enhancing just the right places. I love her pose and how it doesn't look "posed". And she is beautiful. |

KS22308-613FW.jpgby nomad469Comment: Wow. That looks like a story I'd love to be in on. His expression is so full of emotion. I love the blurred face in the background too.
Black and white adds so much richness to this photo. Excellent job with it.

As We Wereby GermaineComment: I love it in black and white. I think I actually prefer it in black and white. As I was looking at it, I was thinking how MUCH it looks like "California". . .and sure 'nuff, that's exactly where it is from. An excellent protrayal of the life and culture there :)

fadingby MephistoComment: Wow! That beautiful old building is abandoned ??? Man, you can feel the character there. I love how you have photographed the light coming in from those stunning windows.
Amazing. I look forward to seeing more of your photos from there. |

Contortby smithmaComment: Nice job, Michael! Oh and yes. . .you can contribute any time you like. Consider yourselves officially an invitee :)
So what kind of lighting did you use? I notice you only had a 1/50 shutter speed, so you really got it amazingly sharp for such a slow shutter.
I think maybe I do agree with Chris on his one point about on this one, it may be more dramatic with a centered, slightly (but not too much) more cropped.

freeby RetroesqueComment: Oh Lisa! I LOVE this photo. I love the character of that old building, and the human element makes this so appealing to me. I actually search for beautiful "slice of life" photos just like this all the time -- I'm just not this lucky very often.
Oh, and you did such an expert job with the overlays. Perfect. You can't tell that you used overlays, but there is such a perfect feel to the photo because of them.

Week 8 - Coal Trainby wickee_oneComment: I like how you have processed this. The train has an old grungy feel to it that is enhanced by the processing. I love snow pictures too . . .since it is so non-existant in Texas.

Wk_9_B&W_Eagle Peakby twmaxComment: Your sky photos are so beautiful. I could look at them every week, so there is NO need to apologize. The beautiful contrasts in the sky look so dramatic against that mountainous landscape. I love this photo.

LLOuttake2.jpgby salmiakkiComment: I love this version. Matter of fact, I think I prefer this version over the one you entered. I think the scale looks so beautiful -- larger than life in this one because of the presence of the oh-so-tiny people in them. I love it that they are there.
The lines are so clean and interesting. Beautiful work!
