this is lovely, very enjoyable. would have liked it even more if there had been just a little more water action. all the same, this really captures a mood and feeling for me. wonderful composition and colors. i'll give this at least a 7.

don't really like the effect here. not really sure i would enjoy this as a "regular" photo. the lighting seems a little too strong on the arm and face (although it is perfect on the flower). the texture seems somewhat forced, and that takes away from my overall viewing experience.

this is ok, i guess. it doesn't really move me one way or another. one thing i find a little disconcerting is the juxtaposition of the simple heart over something that almost looks like a discarded insect exoskeleton.

this is nice and peaceful. maybe it could use a little more color in the flag itself, and maybe it would be a bit better balanced if the darks on the bottom weren't so dark. all the same, a pleasing image that leaves me with no hostility, wondering how the image was produced.

while i might enjoy this image without the impressionistic attempt, i am not enjoying looking at it here. there are some elements i can relate to, but my eyes are having a hard time reconcilling competing shapes and colors. most of the impressionist work i enjoy allows my eye to soak in and absorb the image; that is not happening for me here.

this is the first 'wow' shot i've hit! great job. this is a great idea, and i would encourage you to reshoot it, working on the lighting. for the challenge, i'll give it a 9, but as is, i wouldn't buy it.

i think the lighting kills this for me. if you go back and reshoot this, consider taking 5 of them, gluing them together, and bending them to be legs and antenna. something like that, shot from the right angle, would have rocked in this challenge.
