To be Touched by God.by vtruanComment: van, this is a beautiful shot! i know this one is the image submitted under basic editing, but have you thought about revisiting it, and editing out the lense flare at the top middle? that would be a shot that would sell! this just goes to show that you can get great shots in the middle of the day. and i also agree, this should have placed much higher. better luck next time. |

Fire Escapeby jmleliiComment: i like this one a lot, especially for the color of the sky reflected in the windows.
have you considered going and shooting around fishtown? or even better, manayunk? cresson street, up near the manayunk station has a lot of interesting things to shoot. |

Three-Windowsby jmleliiComment: this is heading towards exquisite. you might want to lightly burn in the stone work near the upper right. the detail, coloring, and lighting is wonderful.
jeremy, you really are heading in the right direction. while i can struggle daily/weekly with the challenges (and my scores reflect that struggle), i am finding my overall shooting is coming way up, thanks to dpc. it shows in your portfolio, and i really believe that if you spend more time working on your portfolio, sooner or later, the effort will start to pay off in the challenges.
so, forget what that stupid moron said about quiting...good luck, and keep shooting! |

Negative Spaceby trnqltyComment: i like it, but would probably like it more with less of a border. two other suggestions i'd make would be to 1) tighten down on the f-stop as far as possible and jack out the shutter as long as possible to allow the branches to burn in as sharply as possible, and 2) use ps to clone out the distant scrub, leaving only the single tree.
this looks like a good place to go back and check out with different skies, at sunrise, with snow, etc. congratulations on finding "your tree to shoot." many of us are still riding around, looking for ours. |
