On the Runby ehelgrenComment: while this is an interesting take on the challenge, the execution could use a little work. the focus falls short of the subjects and the dof is too tight. i don't know if that was your intention, but it makes it hard to really get into the image. |

Love, Obessesions and Fixationsby mesmerajComment: i personally an not drawn to an image of something oozing out of someone else's mouth. in my youth, i might have found it erotic, but after having children, it's just one more mess to clean up.
while i can appreciate the effort you made and what the image means to you, it just didn't have the same effect on me. all the same, dpc represents a very wide and diverse audience, and you should not let my reaction or opinion necessarily guide or affect your future efforts.
good luck, and keep submitting! Message edited by author 2004-11-24 10:50:20. |

Penalty Timeby eaglebeckComment: looks like you had a great perspective to shoot from. too bad you didn't have a shot of him expressing his authority to some players...
also, you might want to submit larger images in the future. as a rule, the smaller ones do not score that well. |

the Bossby jmritzComment: nice bird shot. love the detail, coloring, and use of negative space. great capture of expression, and exceptionally sharp focus and dof. however, except for being a demanding pet, i don't really consider this an authority shot... |

Between Quartersby moswynComment: yes, this is an authority figure. too bad you couldn't catch him exerting his authority : ( also, it can really make a difference scoring if you true up your horizons, rotating your images to remove the tilt. good job with the focus and general composition. |

child playby meganmonsterComment: this is a cute snapshot, but not really an image that represents authority. also, in the future, you might want to increase the size of your submissions (you can go as long as 640 pixels on the longest side). |

Car accidentby TedvandenBerghComment: i see a wreck, but no authority figure. who is in control here, keeping the spectators at bay? even without the challenge, the composition doesn't really take you into the image. a better perspective might have been from closer in while an authority figure was examining the incident. |

"Extending Authority"by tfarrell23Comment: great perspective. don't know why you desaturated this, unless the sky offered no color. i imagine this would be a great shot with an ice blue, cloudless sky. good luck! |
