Because I'm the Queen, That's Why!by debitiptonComment: boy, i'd hate to see that look from one of mine, especially if in a checkout line...ay-yi-yi! love this take on the challenge--nice to have a break from signs and guns! |

Feeding Frenzyby sherComment: what a rush! this is an image that just sucks you in. that open, gaping mouth is perfectly placed. |

Rules of the Gameby kearockComment: i'll give you points for meeting the challenge with a technically proficient shot, but i don't feel really "wowed" by it (other than the fact that you have access to shots like this--how cool is that!). the longer i look at, the stronger the image becomes, but i can't help buy feeling that it could also use the people being addressed. |

Residents Onlyby chookieComment: while this is a technically proficient shot (focus, lighting, dof are are fine) that definitely meets the challenge, it has no "wow" that takes it beyond being a good documentary shot. i know it's not always easy, but this is where the use of models (such as conscripting available children) can really make a couple points difference in your score. imagine how much more dynamic this shot would be if it had a couple dejected looking children looking standing in front of the sign... |

Who's Afraid?by EyesOnlyComment: interesting take on the challenge. would probably be a stronger entry if angled and cropped to accentuate the subject (when holding my hand up, the bottom half of the image looks pretty good, by itself.). |

Clean your room!by MarkComment: the finger is too indistinguished from the clutter to stand out as a subject. without that, this image really struggles to meet the challenge. maybe if it had been shot in portrait mode with the lighting casting the shadow up on the wall it would have come across stronger. |

Fingertip Authorityby bigfishComment: the big question for me is, "did you write the text, or did you find it somewhere?" this could have been a killer entry, if you had rotated the signature into the bottom right, and had included a bit more funny, authoritative text (like "failure to comply will result in forfeiture of first born son..."). shallow dof also takes away from inviting viewer to read deeper into the image. keep in mind, scoring here is a matter of grabbing and keeping voter attention, not allowing them to view and click away. all the same, i like your take on the challenge, and wish you good luck. |
