yes, you have achieved a bokeh effect, but it is not really contributing to your subject. here, your subject so overwhelmingly dominates the image that there is very little for the background to do, other than to just be there. perhaps a different angle and/or perspective could have made more use of the lovely tones in the fallen leaves.

i admire your effort here, but feel that the concept has fallen short in the execution. whether or not you met the challenge is not in question as much as whether or not you have delivered a competitive entry. my basic benchmark for this is whether or not the image would either look good on a wall or grab my attention if i found it in a magazine. for my taste, this would do neither.
