yes, you have achieved a bokeh effect, but, for me, it is a bit too busy. i find it more distracting than complimentary to your subject.

I think this needed to be cropped in on the left to just outside the three aligned petals and just below that same lower petal eliminating the darker areas on the bottom. Very nice shot though.

I think I'd like this better if the crop was a little lower, just above the other poinsettias at the top of the photo maybe. As it is I find the other colors somewhat distracting, but that might just be me :) Very nice idea and I like the detail in the foreground.
