i think one of toughest aspects of portraiture is to capture the essence of an individual, without unnecessary props. you certainly have done that here! great job. the lighting, pose, composition, background, exposure--they all come together to make this image. good work! | Photographer found comment helpful. |

this is a cool image. it is so you. everything works here--the composition, lighting, expression, and especially the pose. great job! | Photographer found comment helpful. |

this is a nice effort, but i think it needs a bit more contrast. the focus is sharp on the eyes, but the lighting is washing out the tonalities and character in the skin. the expression and composition is great. i wonder what the impace would be to have a dark background? good luck! | Photographer found comment helpful. |

my first reaction is that this is just way to busy to work as a portrait. but, then again, how else would you convey what you are after? the necklace, though, should go, being that you had to crop part of it anyway. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

this rocks! great job, all the way around. the lighting, colors, composition, pose, expression all come together. way to go! 8 from me. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

excellent work! the lighting, composition, focus, expression--everything comes together here. the range of tonalities and the textures all come through. i hope to have this much control when i take my turn! 8 from me. |

my immediate reaction is that your face is too centered, that you are not making enough of the available negative space to either side of your profile. next, i think lighting is just a tad too strong. all the same, this is a great composition, nicely captured. |

i appreciate what you've attempted here, as i tried something similar, but just couldn't make it work. reflections are very, very tricky. i like your general composition and choice of colors; i think they very much convey the image you wanted to create. unfortunately, i think your reflection is coming through a bit too forced, almost as if pasted in. this is definitely something worth revisiting, possibly outside the constraints of editing rules, as i think you are onto something. nice effort! | Photographer found comment helpful. |
