This totally isn't me. I'm prolly the luckiest and happiest guy in the world. Certainly not melancholy.

Anywho, I blew out my infinity wall in my studio.
I played with the raw file settings.
I cloned out some dirt on the floor.
Destatureated the white area.
Did some selective color over the whole thing... messed mostly with the whites too enhance the shadow on the floor.
Finished it off with some levels.

Great composition and you certainly wore the right colors to produce a very nice effect. The body posture and simple chair adds to the pensive facial expression. Bumping up.

I really like the use of negative space on the left. However, crop closer to remove the shadows from the right. Nice job....6

Nice matrix style look. I think it would be cool if you were tipping on one leg on the stool.

Excellent composition here (IMO)! Simplicity at it's best, great use of negative space and it adds because your facing into the photo as if there is something hiding in that white space! I would have burned the shadow out of existence (well out of the photo anyways). Good Luck.

i don't know anything about portraiture, so i'm using your image as a guinnea pig as to what i think i would or wouldn't do in this situation, as well as what i notice and get out of your image.

this rocks! great job, all the way around. the lighting, colors, composition, pose, expression all come together. way to go! 8 from me.

Dude, you look so sad. You just got married and returned from Hawaii...it can't be that bad!! :-)

Must be nice having a good studio at your disposal. Lighting is great, negative space is great. Should place up there. Good luck Joel.

Hope your really not this empty. Wish I had a room I could pull this shot off in (no fair). Nicely exposed and composed. Great job.

good...I would like it more without the shadow...and if you lifted your feet up...but still good.

Can't say more than 9. This is a fantastic studio set-up and your pose is great.

seems flat, you need to either exagerate your side light or add a back light, a perfectionist would do both. but i like the angle your sitting on the chair, makes me unconfortable, i guess thats how i would feel in emptiness 6
