billboards are a science unto themselves. a lot of research has gone into determining just how much information a person can digest and retain in specific time spans. they use this information to develop formulas for determining the number of words and letters to use on billboards, as well as their sizes. they also determine the size and number of visual elements to include.

the graphics/photograph on a billboard are designed to get the point across in a moment. on the road, a driver will have less time with a billboard than a voter will give your image. this is a key element in the challenge: composing a shot that will get its point across quickly and succintly. along those lines, a strong composition will probably have few details and make strong use of negative space.

i imagine some will have problems relating this image and the title to a promoting something specific, but all the same, i love it! i have seen this type of idea for promoting lots of things, and hope that not being tied to something specific doesn't hold you back your scores. good luck!

i will be SHOCKED is this isn't on the front page. as an image, it's probably the cleanest of the challenge. as a billboard, it flat out rocks! this could cause cars to go off the road! excellent composition, impeccable control. good luck! one of my few 10s for the challenge.

nice idea, would have been stronger if the subject wasn't centered, and if the snow had at least a 6-pack (or more) of coke bottles sticking out. this also could have used a higher perspective, so that the bottle and head weren't lost in the background. i don't know how this will end up scoring, but it does show creativity, and if you harness it, you'll get where you want to be. good luck!

not really sure what i would get out of this at 60 mph. maybe a different perspective that gave me more of a feeling that it was a 'bride'? the structure on the right is a serious distraction.

i think this idea would work just fine as a billboard. here, i can't tell if the white is supposed to be sand or snow, though. the idea of snow would be killer. [also, as an aside, from a composition standpoint, the billboard would need enough room to get the text on there.]

maybe as a photograph, but not as a billboard...it's a bit too centered. also, at 60 mph, that person would barely be noticed. great colors and contrast. maybe if you had someone on a bed out there this might have a stronger tie to 'dreamers'...

i think i see what you wanted to do, but i don't think this composition would work to well at 60 mph. on the other hand, the bottle and the sunglasses by themselves, positioned in a corner, would get the idea of 'the cool choice' across nicely...

i'm not quite sure what you were after here. as an image, the background is too busy and the subject too centered. as a billboard, there's not much room to get your idea across, and, as for the challenge, i'm not quite sure what you're promoting...
