nicely observed, though a bit hard on the eyes (you've really caught the essence of 'don't look directly into the sun'). excellent composition.

again, nice find. don't forget to try different perspectives when you happen upon scenes like this. this image could be stronger if the subject wasn't so centered.

very nice. i could stand to have the saturization turned up just a bit, as well as a little more contrast. just for grins, you might try duplicating and multiplying the base layer--that might have some interesting results. have fun!

nicely observed. could stand to be a tad sharper. tough call about the foreground shadows--maybe a mask edit to lighten them up a bit might even the image out some. good work!

wow, neil, you must have had a dickens of a time deciding which to enter--they are all outstanding! i like the first one for the additional interest in the clouds, but really love the 4th one! excellent diagonals and colors.

nice find, kendall! i guessing that the brightness of the day was playing havoc with your autofocus, which kept this from being as sharp as dpc voters tend to like things. all the same, you did capture the moment! makes me want to kick back and take a break, myself...thanks for sharing!

for cloning something like this, it does take a bit of work. you need to be zoomed it pretty deep, and you'll also need to go back and forth between the clone stamp and the healing brush. work with it when you have time--this would be a great image to practice on, AND you'd wind up with a killer print! have fun!

how can you maintain that look when it's so obvious you're having too much fun ;-)

and there's nothing wrong with your beer selection! have you ever taken advantage of the brewery tour over in newark? that could be inspirational...
