tough shot. i see where you're going, but don't think you're there, yet. i think once you're free of the dpc challenge constraints, you'll be able to go back and shoot this the way you really want to capture it, a little sharper, a little more definition on the birds, a little less motion. who knows, maybe it already has what you want, but because of size limitations, we just can't see it...

a beautiful, timeless shot, yes. i think a square crop would have made this a better entry. also, if it had been shot from just a bit higher perspective, the far players' heads wouldn't be lost in the background.

nice idea, but a needs a bit of work on the execution. the background really kills the shot, and his arm position (blocking his face), doesn't help either. this type of shot could have been a front-page contender, if shot with a little more attention to those details.

excellent idea, definitely meets the challenge. my only preference would have been to have had more of the dog in focus, as opposed to only the spray (this is why i shoot some specific sports shot in manual focus, so that the ai doesn't end up hunting the wrong subject).

nice idea, but compositionally, this is more haphazard than well-planned. rotated slighting, and with the blade not so parallel to the body, this would have been much more dynamic.
